Major life transitions- engagement, marriage, pregnancy, early parenthood, growing your family- can quietly reshape a relationship.

Roles shift. Expectations surface. Communication patterns get tested.

Couples counseling during these seasons helps you pause, reflect, and intentionally strengthen your partnership so your relationship feels steady as your life expands.

You don’t have to navigate these changes on your own.

You deserve support as your relationship and family grows.

Hi, I’m Jackie.

it’s nice to meet you

I am a Resident in Counseling who works with couples and perinatal clients navigating meaningful life transitions: engagement, marriage, pregnancy, and early parenthood. With over 15 years of experience as a teacher and school counselor, I bring an educator’s perspective to therapy, helping clients better understand themselves and each other during seasons of change. As a partner and parent myself, I approach this work with both professional training and lived understanding, supporting couples in intentionally strengthening their “we” as their lives grow.

How do you know if counseling might be helpful?

Life transitions can quietly shift the dynamics of a relationship. Even strong partnerships can feel strained as roles change and new demands take shape.

You might notice:

  • Having the same argument repeatedly, without feeling resolved

  • Feeling like the mental or emotional load is uneven

  • Difficulty communicating needs without conflict or withdrawal

  • Feeling disconnected from your partner during a season that was expected to feel joyful

  • Wondering how to stay connected as responsibilities and identities evolve

For individual partners, especially during pregnancy or the postpartum period, this can also look like feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to voice your needs while caring for others.

Counseling can help couples and individuals better understand these shifts, strengthen communication, and rebuild connection during times of change.

If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or wanting more support as your relationship or family grows, counseling may be a helpful next step.
