Meet Jackie, a therapist, former educator, and mom who knows firsthand how much this season can shake a relationship.
Helping couples across Virginia navigate marriage, pregnancy, and parenthood through online therapy.
I’ve Been There…
After more than a decade working as an educator and school counselor, I stepped into motherhood. I was excited and hopeful, but also surprised by how much this transition stirred up, emotionally and relationally. Becoming a parent shifted my sense of identity in ways I hadn't fully expected, and I found myself navigating anxiety and big feelings alongside the joy.
That experience played a meaningful role in my decision to return to school and pursue a Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I wanted to support couples and perinatal clients through pregnancy, parenthood, and major relationship transitions, especially during seasons that can feel vulnerable, overwhelming, or isolating.
Today, I offer online couples therapy and perinatal counseling to clients across Virginia. My work is grounded in the belief that when you understand why certain patterns keep showing up, things start to feel less confusing and more changeable. Couples often come in feeling like two people managing life in parallel. They leave feeling like partners again.
Here’s How We Can Work Together:
From managing symptoms to rebuilding connection
My Approach
I believe therapy works best when clients understand what’s happening, not just what to do. Education is a big part of how I work. When you understand why certain patterns keep showing up, things start to feel less confusing and more changeable.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples get beneath surface-level conflict and into the emotional and attachment needs underneath it. Rather than acting as a referee or focusing only on logistics, we look at how you relate to each other under stress- what happens when one of you feels unseen, overwhelmed, or disconnected- and how to shift those patterns in a lasting way.
This work often helps couples shift from feeling like individuals managing stress alone to feeling like a connected “we” again.
At the same time, insight alone isn't always enough. Sessions often include practical tools and concrete steps you can try between appointments. Not quick fixes, but skills that build on each other over time.
My goal is never to keep you in therapy longer than you need. It's to help you and your partner build the kind of understanding and closeness that holds up on a hard Tuesday, not just in my office.
